The Oriente Foundation scholarships programme aims to promote scientific exchanges between Portuguese and Oriental universities and scientific groups.

Until 31 December 2012, the Oriente Foundation accepts applications for short term scholarships. Granted for a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 90 days, these scholarships are meant to the attendance of courses or to undergo training periods in Portugal or in Far Eastern countries.

Between 2 and 31 de January, the Oriente Foundation accepts applications for annual scholarships to be granted for courses on Portuguese or Oriental language and culture and for investigation and doctorate degree.
